Getting started

Quickstart: your first animated chart

From an empty project to an exported MP4 in about ten minutes, with nothing but the candle tool and one zoom.

This walks from an empty project to a finished MP4. It uses one tool you have to learn (the candle tool) and one that does the work for you (the Market Block). Give it ten minutes.

1. Start a project

From the dashboard, click Blank. You land in the editor with an empty grid, the tool rail on the left, the properties panel beside it and the transport along the bottom.

2. Get candles on screen

Press g for the Market Block tool and click anywhere on the grid. You get a chunk of generated price action — a real walk with volatility clustering and fat tails, not noise, and reshapeable afterwards.

Do not fight the result. Select the block and hit Regenerate until the shape says what you want it to say. Every draw is seeded, so the same seed always produces the same candles — you are picking from a space, not gambling.

Tip

Prefer to draw it yourself? Press c and drag on the grid: one drag is one candle, and its handles set open, high, low and close afterwards.

3. Mark the thing you are talking about

Press l for the Level tool and click at the price your story turns on. Give it a label in the panel.

Then press r and drag a Zone over the area that matters. Both appear in the video at the candle you placed them on, not from frame one — that is what the Appears at field controls.

4. Play it

Press K or hit play in the transport. The chart reveals candle by candle, and your level and zone arrive on their columns.

If it runs too fast, open Settings → Output and lower the speed. If a moment needs room, press h and click the candle you want the chart to sit on for a beat.

5. Move the camera in

Press z and drag a rectangle around the part of the chart that matters at the end. That rectangle is exactly what the video will frame when it gets there.

Watch it in the Output pane — the Editor pane deliberately always stays zoomed out, so it is the only place a camera move is visible. The editor opens that pane for you when camera work starts.

6. Export

Open Export in the top bar, choose MP4, pick 16:9 for a landscape video or 9:16 for a vertical one, and start it. The file is encoded in your browser and lands in your downloads.

Every exported frame carries the risk disclaimer

It is drawn on every frame with no fade, and it cannot be dragged off-screen. That is deliberate and not configurable away — a one-off hint at the start of a video does not satisfy disclosure. See the overlay page.
