Tommy Hummel-Nguyen (ChartBuilder) is committed to making chartbuilder.studio accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG). This statement applies to the website and the web application at chartbuilder.studio.
Status of conformity
This service is partially conformant with the applicable requirements. The assessment is based on a self-evaluation; no external audit has been carried out to date.
Measures taken
- Semantic HTML and screen reader support. The marketing pages, the legal pages, sign-up, log-in, account settings and the documentation are built from semantic HTML and are operable by keyboard and with a screen reader. Interactive controls carry accessible names, decorative elements are hidden from assistive technology, and status messages are announced.
- Language and structure. The page language is declared, headings follow a hierarchical order, and form fields have associated labels and text-based error messages.
- Reduced motion. Animations are switched off automatically for users who have set "reduce motion" in their operating system.
- Display. The interface is available as a light and a dark theme, and the layout stays usable when zoomed in the browser.
- Documentation. The editor's keyboard shortcuts are documented.
Non-accessible content
The following parts are not yet fully accessible:
- The chart editor. Charts are drawn onto an HTML canvas element. Its content is therefore not available to screen readers, and building and arranging chart elements requires pointer input (mouse, trackpad or touch); it cannot presently be operated by keyboard alone. We are not currently able to offer an equivalent alternative for this core function.
- Exported videos and images. Files created by users are their own content. We provide subtitles as a feature, but we have no influence over whether a given export uses them.
- Colour contrast. Colours in the editor are freely chosen by the user, including for text elements, so we cannot guarantee a minimum contrast ratio in user-created content.
The marketing pages, the legal pages, sign-up, log-in, account settings and the documentation are built from ordinary HTML and are operable by keyboard and screen reader.
