Plans and what is paid

The complete list of features a subscription unlocks — nothing else in the app is gated.

Signing up gives you the whole editor, free and with no time limit. Seven things need an active subscription — and only these seven.

The complete list

This list is exhaustive

Section 7 of the Terms declares it so. Nothing else in the product is gated, and a new gate has to be added to this list in the same commit that introduces it, or the Terms become untrue.

Exports without a watermark. Exports from a free account carry a small, moving "made with ChartBuilder" mark along the edge of the frame. Everything else about the file is identical.

4K resolution. Free exports render at 1080p; a subscription doubles that to 4K in every aspect ratio.

Frame rates above 30fps. Free tops out at 30fps, a subscription goes to 60.

All templates. Three of the fifteen starter templates are open to everyone; the rest need a subscription.

Generated videos. Turning a lesson into a finished video is a paid feature, capped at five per calendar month so the niche does not fill up with videos that all look alike.

Voice-over and automatic subtitles. Synthetic narration and transcription of your own recording both run through a paid third-party provider.

The bundled sound library. The sound effects supplied with the app can be assigned at any time, but are only audible in the preview and in exports with an active subscription. Sound and music files you upload yourself always play.

What is not gated

The editor itself, first of all. There is no export count, no credit balance, no project limit, no tool held back, no length limit, and brand kits and style presets are free.

That is a deliberate position: an export renders in your own browser, so your hundredth video costs us exactly what your first one did. There is nothing to meter.

How degradation works

The sound gate is enforced where the audio is planned, not merely in the panel — projects live in your browser, so a UI lock would only be a suggestion.

It degrades to silence, never data loss. The sound stays on the element and starts playing after an upgrade with no re-edit.

Preview and export are gated identically on purpose. Letting an unpaid editor hear the library and then shipping a silent file would be a preview-versus-export gap nobody could debug.

If you cancel

You drop back to the free plan. The editor stays open, your projects are untouched, and the seven items above simply stop applying. Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked away.

Upgrading

From your account page or the upgrade page. Payment is handled by our merchant of record, so VAT and invoicing are handled for your country automatically — see billing.
